What I Did a Couple Weekends Ago

Oh my goodness, we have had some hot weather this summer including today!  Here's a mani I did a couple weekends ago on another scorching day!

My order of a few of the Girly Bits A Little Madness Collection had arrived and I had taken them with me for the weekend which is why you see these outdoor shots.  This is two coats of Girly Bits Go Ask Alice with a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

I also ordered a Mystery Pack of Girly Bits and one of the three polishes in the pack was Girly Bits SPB 1310; decided to sponge it at tips for interest.  Top coated with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

I had also ordered UberChic Collection 10, also available from Girly Bits, and, using an image from UC 10-01, placed different bits of the image on each nail for some interest.  Stamping polish used was Funky Fingers Gesso.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.  I didn't notice the stamping polish smear until I uploaded the pix a few days later as it wasn't visible IRL.  I haven't had stamping smear in such a long time that I was really surprised to see it but I'm guessing that the polish stamping polish was slow to dry in the heat and humidity and therefore, smeared a little.  I wore this for 3 days and didn't even see it but you know macro; every little flaw if very obvious.

All in all and even with the smear, I liked how this turned out!

Glam Polish King Cry-Baby and I Really Do Love That Hat

I got a few Glam's from Harlow & Co's last restock and couldn't wait to use Glam King Cry-Baby!  I think it is such an interesting base for some stamping so did a mani with it a day or so after the package arrived last week! Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Glam Polish King Cry-Baby with an accent of Glam Polish I Really Do Love That Hat, shown with no top coat.  I used a coat of Dance Legend Peel Off Base and let it dry first as I hadn't tried it yet and thought these very glittery polishes would be a good test of how it worked!

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

I could not for the life of me get a clear stamper to work with the image I had picked out which was from Marianne Nails n.02.  I am only thankful that I was able to place the images decently as I'm about ready to throw out every clear stamper I own!  Used FunkyFingers Dark Knight. They aren't 100% but not bad considering; however, not all the lines were straight on the thumb.

This is Cindy; I even placed the images Ok on this hand!  This never happens!

Top coated everything off with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

I wore these nails for three days and am happy to report that even after soaking in the hot tub, I didn't have any premature polish pop offs as I've found in the past with these peel off bases.  The peel off wasn't one continuous pop though and did take a bit of effort to get off all the polish; even then, I had to use acetone and cotton for some stubborn bits.  I will try two coats next time and see if removal, or premature pop off, happens!  I'm still looking for the perfect balance in these peel off bases; some are too hard to remove; some have nails pop off too early.  Hopefully I'll find the right fit!

Smitten Sunny Side Up and Apipila P.2

Another archived mani; yes, I'm still doing my nails about several times a week but have soooo many mani's in archives because I do my nails at a great rate that I can do posts so need to get some of these up!  I lost about 2500 pictures not too long ago by fingers moving faster than my brain and then accidentally deleted them; I tried a recovery program but still wasn't able to recover them.  So I'm hoping if I get some older mani's posted, as well as delete some ones that are so fugly no one is ever going to want to see them anyway, that I won't have to worry so much about accidental deletions and what not.  So these nails that I'm sharing are almost two years old now; I love how they turned out and not really sure why I didn't share them sooner but glad they weren't deleted in the brain freeze purge!

Started with a base of two coats of Smitten (now Dreamland) Sunny Side Up, no top coat

I remember how exciting getting Smitten/Dreamland Sunny Side Up was as there weren't many yellow holos on the market at the time.  This pix, you can see the holo a little bit better!

Stamped using FUN black stamping polish using an image from Apipila P.2.  The stamping doesn't look that crisp here; I'm not sure if there was a problem with the plate or it could have been not a good press onto the nail and a little movement which I know sometimes happens which causes the shadowing.

Added a few dots for interest.

Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Hope you're having a wonderful week; thanks for looking!

Digit-al Dozen REDOES Fashion; Day 5

Here's my Day 5 Digit-al Dozen REDOES fashion mani which was inspired by one of my shirts,  then with stamping on it!

For the base, did a dry brush mani over two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls with Orly Indie TX, OPI Keeping Suzi At Bay and Jessica King Tut's Gem.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Digit-al Dozen REDOES Fashion; Day 4

I've been at a total loss for this weeks fashion nails.  I'm not terribly into fashion (wear what I want, don't care if it's fashionable, sticking with mainly classics and neutrals), so haven't found anything much that interests me when googling or searching on Pinterest.  Let's just say, its been taking me longer to find something to use as inspiration than it takes to do my nails!  Anyway, I found something last night when googling purple fashion and came up with these for Day 4 of Digit-al Dozen REDOES fashion!

Here is my fashion inspiration; photo credit Favim.  Doesn't look like the stamping polish matched that well but it is closer IRL.

Started with a base of two coats of Nvr Enuff Unicorn Flower (Flower!  How appropriate!), shown with no top coat.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

Stamped using images from Delaney Rectangles A001 (middle) and BP L-024 (rest) using MdU 54 (Iris).

Digit-al Dozen REDOES Fashion; Day 3

It's Day 3 of Digit-al Dozen REDOES fashion; for today's mani, I used a gown that Chrissy Teigen wore at the Oscars. Here's what I came up with!

This was the gown used for inspiration.  Photo credit to US Magazine.  (I just realized that the stamping doesn't look as dark to match, darn it!)

Started with a base of two coats of piCture pOlish Beige, no top coat.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.
