Poppies!

I did these nails a couple nights ago; I wanted something pretty simple but colourful; this is what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (no pix as have shown before); top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.  Stamped using red Konad special polish using Marianne Nails XXL on all fingers except accent, which is Chez Delaney Floral 008.

I really liked the simplicity of this look but decided to dot the centres. I think I went a little overboard with dots at the tip of the nail on accent!  I think it would have looked cleaner without them there.

Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I think this is one of those mani's that probably would have been matter finished in matte but still don't mind how it turned out.

My Attempt at a Radial Gradient!

I did my first ever radial gradient a couple weekends ago and while it's not perfect, it didn't turn out half bad! Here's what I came up with!

This is what the sponge looked like for the gradient. For me, the hardest part was gauging how large of a circle to do in each colour do do to fit my (little) nails.  Obviously I think my nails are bigger than they are because didn't get purple outer ring on all them but at least I'll know for next time.  The polishes I used were pretty sheer even though they looked opaque in the bottle; it took a lot.....and I mean A LOT...... of sponging to get good colour on the nails.

The other thing obviously was the cleanup...I did these over the weekend in cottage country where I don't have all my supplies and while I had purchased liquid latex to use at home for manis just like this, it was of little help to me sitting at home.

Polishes used were Sally Hansen Mardi Gras (purple), Barielle Bold n Confident (red) and Sally Hansen Insta-dri Lightening (yellow).  This is in the shade, after cleanup, which still wasn't the best.

Stamped using FUN 14 with Funky Fingers Dark Night.

I know my radial gradient need some work, especially for sizing, but not terribly for bad I don't think for my first try.  Plus everything takes practise, just like regular sponged gradients, stamping etc so I hope I will improve! I can see this being pretty cool occasionally for some image stamping.

Angelacq Lacquer

I was at my local supply place not too long ago and noticed that they had a display of a new (to me) brand of polishes called Angelacq Lacquer.  They had polish as well as the counterpart in gel.  Of course I had to pick up a couple to try!  It was no surprise that my eye gravitated toward the blues; this is what I came up with when I paired a couple of them together!

Started with a base of two coats each of Angelacq Spectrum Blue with accents of Angelacq Azure Blue.

Topped with KBShimmer before stamping.

Stamped using Funky Fingers Gesso using an image from Chez Dentelle 004.

Added a few accent studs for interest.

Top coated all with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I did my other hand slightly different; really liked how this turned out too!

I unfortunately don't have much information about Angelacq Lacquer.  I had bought from local nail supply place that is one of their distributors and have a feeling they are for professionals only.  The polish is to be long lasting, up to three weeks with their topcoat according to their website, but I didn't use the topcoat, nor did I wear for three weeks!.  I have no issues with removal or staining.  I see they had a booth at CosmoProf2015 so hopefully those bloggers covering the event for media might have some insight how widely they will be available.

Digit-al Dozen Does Neon; Day 5

It's the last day of Digit-al Dozen sponged gradient neon week and while I have more sponged gradients to share, I thought I would share something a little different being some neon stamping.  This is another favourite mani of mine; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (no pix as have shown before). Stamped using an assortment of Mundo de Unas polishes; numbers 29, 39, 49, 51 and 69 using an image from BP L015.

I actually thought that was the end of the mani as I was pretty happy how it turned out, but later that night I got looking at my nails and got to thinking it needs a bit more.  So, the next morning, decided to add a little to it.  First, added a few flower center accents using Shimmer Alice.

Then, added image to accent using an image from MoYou Tropical Collection-06 using Funky Fingers Dark Knight and Mundo de Unas 48. This was just a little extra that added big umphhh to the mani, and finished it off I think.

Here's the other ladies Day 5 neon nails!

Hopefully you have enjoyed every one's neon mani's this week; I know it was fun for me to put such bright and colourful colours on even if they were mainly sponged gradients.........thanks for looking!

*edited on July 21 2015 to add pix of BP L015.

Digit-al Dozen Does Neon; Day 4

I'm seriously thinking that the Digit-al Dozen changed the theme of this weeks challenge to sponged gradient neon mani's and I was the only one who got the memo!  That's my story and I'm sticking to it as I have yet another sponged gradient to share for Day 4 of Digit-al Dozen neon week!

I had been to the US in the spring and picked up a few neon Salon Perfect polishes at Walmart; this is two coats of Salon Perfect Summer Escape, no top coat.

Sponged using Salon Perfect Haute Pink (but I don't see much pink in it!)

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Stamped using Funky Fingers Gesso using an image from Apipila P.36.

Here's the other ladies Day 4 neon mani's.....and maybe they finally read the memo and there's another sponged gradient there!

Digit-al Dozen Does Neon; Day 3

It's Day 3 of Digit-al Dozen challenge week with the neon theme and low and behold, I have another gradient.  Sorry to be so boring about them, but it just seems to be what I'm into right now.  But what better way to showcase more than one polish at a time, right?  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of KBShimmer Leggo My Mango, no top coat.

Did a sponged gradient using KBShimmer Bahama Drama.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top before stamping.

Stamped using Funky Fingers Gesso using an image from Pet'la Koy.
