Tax Time!

Sharing a Polish Previously Received for Review!

I'm late getting this post up but as today is the usual deadline for filing your taxes in Canada (except this year, due to a notice distributed earlier in the week by CRA stating the deadline is May 5, which was an error, they have now officially extended it to 3:00 am May 5th), I thought I would do a tax related mani!  Of course, it's blue being that I've been sharing blue mani's for the month of April in support of Autism Awareness.  This is what I came up with!

Started with a base of a coat of Nubar Fan Club; one coat gave pretty good coverage and I knew I would be adding glitter and stamping.

Layered a thin coat of Shimmer Sarah on all fingers except accent, which got a second coat of Nubar Fan Club.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Close up of Shimmer Polish Sarah**.

Stamped using Funky Fingers Gesso using Bundle Monster BM-311 on all fingers except accent.  Accent is stamped with Apipila 03 and VL011.

Close up of Vivid Lacquer VL011.

Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I haven't really shared this before, but I've been trying out a new glitter removal base; NYC Strip Me Off Base Coat.  I used it on all fingers here and it worked well even on the non glitter polish!  So far, used it about half a dozen times and it has worked well every time.  Can't beat the price either for under $2 here in Canada!

Hopefully you've enjoyed all the blue mani's this month...and have filed your taxes lol!  Myself, I pay someone to do mine so I don't actually have to pull my hair out and swear while doing them....good luck to you if you do yours!

Two Blue Mani's!

In continuing with blue mani's for April is Autism Awareness month, I have two blue mani's to share today! But before I do, I just want to share a RAOK that happened to me this morning at the Tim Horton's drive thru.  Most of my days start with a large triple triple at Tim Horton's.  I was pleasantly surprised when I drove up to the window this morning and was told that my coffee had been covered by the vehicle in front of me!  What a fantastic way to start a Monday morning!  Thanks to the person in the beige SUV at the Tim Horton's at Goreway and Hwy 7 for your RAOK!  It made my day!

I rarely share two mani's at a time but even though I've shared quite a few this month already, I still have a whole bunch more in archives so thought it might be good to do two today.  Also, the second mani, I only have the finished nails, no in progression, so not really enough for a whole post so thought I'd include it today too!

Here's the first one; started with a base of Lilypad Lacquer Sea Queen and Lilypad Lacquer Oceanic; this is two coats each, no topcoat.

Stamped using an image from MJ XL VII using Funky Fingers Gesso and Mundo 54.

Top coated to finish.

Unfortunately, the holographic sparkle didn't show up that well in these pix but I was able to take pix the next day and it shined through a little bit better.  Myself, I like a bit more sparkle or uniqueness to my polishes lately (trying to thin the herd!); these went to the swap pile right after I used them.  Pretty enough but you need to start someplace and they just didn't have the wow factor I'm looking for.

For the second mani, I don't have many pix of the this mani so thought I would share it now.  I had a computer glitch and the saved pictures weren't the same as the thumbprint preview.  When I was deleting pix of mani's I had already shared, I deleted most of the pix of this mani thinking I had already shared them before from the thumbprint preview, when in fact, I wasn't even deleting the pix that was on preview.  Once I realized what I was doing, and after some googling, I discovered you could refresh the thumbprint but all I had left when this was done was a few of the finished nails.

This is Elevation Polish Just Like Night Time stamped with Pet'la Golden Russian using Mundo 43.

For some reason, my hand are more lobstery than normal in these pix but I thought I would share this one as you can see more of the holo in Just Like Night time a bit better.

As much as I love blue, I'm getting tired of sharing just blue mani's so I don't know about you, but I can't wait for May 1st!  In the meanwhile, I do have a few more that I'll be sharing over the next few days so bear with me lol!

Happy Earth Day!

 Today is Earth Day!

Started with a base of two coats of Glam Summer Nights.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top before stamping.

Stamped using images from UberChic 2-03 using Mundo de Unas 39.

UberChic 2-03

I added Earth Day from Wistonia W104 using Funky Fingers Gesso but stamped over most of South America so removed the stamping on the entire finger (which is why I always top coat first before stamping), then redid the images.

Topcoated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Decided I liked the matte version better so added coat of OPI matte.

Different Dimension Pluto is a Planet to Me.....With a Twist!

Different Dimension Pluto is a Planet to Me is another blue polish that I absolutely love!  So much so that when I placed an order with Different Dimension last fall, I asked Missi if she could make the same polish but without the gold shimmer.  Not that I don't like the gold shimmer; just that I wanted the same base colour without it!

Started with a base of two coats of Different Dimension custom with an accent of three coats of KBShimmer Snow Way!, then top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using VL-4 using Mundo de Unas #1, then top coated to finish.

I hope you are enjoying blue mani's in support of Autism Awareness!

Teal Swirls

Just like there's a wide assortment of disorders in the autism spectrum, there's a wide assortment of shades in the blue colour spectrum including teal so this teal polish is being shared as part of wearing blue for April Autism Awareness month.

Started with a base of Nicole by OPI That's What I Mint, two coats, no top coat.  This is part of the Nicole by OPI Gumdrops texture collection from a couple years ago.

Stamped using Vivid Lacquer VL022 using white Konad special polish.

As I have a need to top coat all things even when I shouldn't sometimes like with textured polishes, I did anyway; used HKGirl quick dry.

Hopefully you're enjoying these blue mani's during the month of April!

Digit-al Dozen Does Childhood; Day 5

Here were are at Day 5 of Digit-al Dozen childhood week!    When I was thinking about all the things I did as a kid, one of the things I thought of were the times that my cousins would spent the weekend at my Grandpa and Grandma's house and we would sit around the kitchen table and visit.  Before too long, some type of game was started for all  to play; sometimes it was Romolli, other times it was Monopoly (which is what I planned on doing for Day 5 as there are some awesome Monopoly stamping images until I seen that Glowstars did a Monopoly mani here) sometimes spoons, so I thought what else did we all do....and it came to me....of course, the Ouiji Board!  Do you know how many nights my cousins and I summoned the spirits, then scared ourselves silly with the boards craziness so much that we couldn't go to sleep at night? Good memories lol! So today's mani is based on the Ouiji Board!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI My Vampire is Buff topped with one coat of Elevation Polish Aguja St. Exupery.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using assortment of images; fauxand A02 (moon and star on pinky; small stars on thumb),  Handy 18 (sun on index), MoYou Bridal Collection-01 (yes on index), Pet'la Football LE (numbers on middle and ring), Nailways Back to Basics ABC 123 (letters on middle, ring and thumb), MJ Wedding Day (yes on index), and random fauxnad plate bought from Walmart but no name (larger stars on thumb).  Used Funky Fingers Dark Night as stamping polish.

Unfortunately, I didn't do too great of a job lining up some of the letters but maybe someday, I'll get better lol!  Topped with KBShimmer.

I thought this would look best matte so added OPI matte and do like the vintage look of it better.  BIT it annoyed me that the 3 on the middle finger got pulled.  I didn't notice it until much later in the day when I was wearing it or could have corrected it at least for the pix; oh well.  But really like the matte look of Elevation
Aguja St. Exupery glitter peaking underneath; inspiration for another mani, I think!  I just realized typing this post that I forgot the heart image for the moving heart piece on the board...I had it out to do but forgot!

I did my other hand slightly different; used an image from MoYou Pro Collection-14 and topped with KBShimmer Clearly on top to finish.

Hopefully you've enjoyed all of the ladies childhood mani's over the course of the week.  There have been some amazing nails as always!  Here's the other ladies Day 5 mani's!
