40 Great Nail Art Ideas Does New Year's!

Last Friday (aka Christmas Day) was 40 Great Nail Art Ideas with the theme of New Year's. Unfortunately, I was still posting Christmas nails so didn't have anything to share that day but was able to do one last night. Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Nicole by OPI Bee In the Moment.

Did a sponged gradient using Nicole Bee In the Moment, piCture pOlish Citrus and OPI Red.

Top coated with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Stamped using Chez Fete 002 (ring and pinky) and Sugar Bubbles SBS 09 (middle, index and thumb) with Funky Fingers Dark Knight.  Did a little brush touch up on the middle.

Top coated using Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!  All the best to you and yours this holiday season!

Started with a base of Colors by llarowe Chasing A Unicorn.  This is a two step system; did two coats of the base and one coat of the holo topper.  Shown with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Stamped using Chez Xmas 001 (holly on thumb and ring), Chez Noel A003 (words on ring), Chez Noel A007 (thumb, index and pinky) and D01 (middle), which is probably one of my all time favourite Christmas images.  Stamping polishes used are Girly Bits Fire Engine Red, Sapphire, and Emerald Stamping Polishes.

MoYou Festive Collection 18 (planned on using it but never)

Added a few dots here and there for interest using Girly Bits Fire Engine Red.

Blue Gradient Stars!

I got a case of the Bah Humbugs recently; I'm not sure why but not really in the Christmas spirit all of a sudden. Maybe it's because of our unseasonably warm weather which is lots of rain, overcast skies and no snow (which I normally would be thankful as I hate driving in the white stuff!) or could be because of all the crowds and maniac drivers in the parking lots who are more worried about rushing to wherever they have to be versus paying attention to where they are going!  Anyway, when I sat down to do my nails, the last thing I wanted on them was something Christmas related, so did these instead!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Glisten & Glow You've Been Hazed!, no top coat.  I did top coat it as usual before stamping but didn't upload a pix for some reason.

Stamped using an image from Chez Delaney Noel A003.  Stamping polishes starting at thumb and going clockwise are Mundo de Unas 3, 54, 4 and 68 and MoYou Dusty Cloud.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

With Christmas just  few days away, I hope I get into the spirit soon!

Digit-al Dozen Does Traditions; Day 5

I'm really late for Day 5 of Digit-al Dozen week; this mani is also doing double duty as the 40 Great Nail Art Ideas Christmas prompt.

Today's nails represent a tradition in my home that I wish wasn't a tradition; the wrapping of Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve!  It doesn't matter how early we do our shopping, or how many or few gifts we have to wrap, they all get wrapped on Christmas Eve.  The hubs actually does the wrapping because he's a better wrapper then I am; I wrap gifts that look like a four year old did it!  I'm the helper; I do all the tags, putting them under the tree and do the stocking filling in between.  Some years, especially when the kids were little and wouldn't go to sleep, the wrapping of the gifts didn't get finished until 3 or 4 am.....when you are up bright and early with excited little ones, that isn't much sleep!  I think last year was the first year we were done relatively early; only because all the kids are older now; we only have a few gifts to wrap as the majority of their gifts are gift cards and cash.

Did an assortment of polish bases; Lacquistry Amazeballz You're So Extra Fine! on thumb and pinky, two coats of Girly Bits Little Red Toque on index, three coats Noodles Nail Polish Snow Coat Snow Boots Snow Problems, and three coats piCture pOlish LakoDom on ring; all have no top coat.  All these different finishes probably go against a lot of peoples mani rules but I love it!

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Stamped using Chez Noel 003 (thumb), MoYou Festive Collection-06 (index), Sugar Bubbles Special 02 (middle), Infinity 35 (ring) and Chez Divers 009 (pinky).  Stamping polishes are all Girly Bits Stamping Polishes**; White Wedding, Fire Engine Red, Golden Ticket and Emerald.

Decorated the tree by adding some garland using Girly Bits Fire Engine Red, also dotted ornaments using Golden Ticket.  Dotted thumb image using Girly Bits Emerald and White Wedding Stamping Polishes. Dotted index finger with Lacquistry Amazeballz, as well as added ornaments on the tree using it and wrapped the presents under the tree with it too!

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

I took this pix the next day in overcast skies.  There is so much glare with my lighting set up and the glitter and Amazeballz, I thought the stamping might be shown better in more natural light.  I love how the Amazeballz and the red stamping polish look together!  This will be another mani sometime soon!

Here's the other ladies Day 5 traditions manis!

Digit-al Dozen Does Traditions; Day 4

These nails aren't your typical holidays nails, but that's what I was going for!  I wanted to do candy cane stripes but not the typical striped nails so thought I would use this super cool image from Infinity 116 for some candy cane like nails.  We love candy canes at our house; not only to eat but loads of decorations; candy cane lights outside, decorations on the tree, and even used in holiday baking!  Which make them perfect for a tradition mani for Day 4 of Digital Dozen week!

Started with a base of two coats of Sally Hansen Insta-dri Rapid Red, OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and OPI Love. Angel. Music. Baby.  no top coat.

Added coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to all fingers except pinky.

Using an image from Infinity 116, stamped using Girly Bits White Wedding and Fire Engine Red Stamping Polishes.

Girly Bits recently released a stamping plate and stamping polishes.  This is Girly Bits Fire Engine Red Stamping Polish**; highly pigmented, odour free and no blurring, either with the stamping or when top coat was applied.  The formula was awesome for a stamping polish and stamped really well!  I've been using a lot of the Girly Bits stamping polishes in my recent holiday mani's and haven't had an issue with any of them.  I'll be doing a more comprehensive post on them soon!

Decided the nails needed a little bit more so painted nail studs using the stamping polishes.  I sure wish there were more coloured metal circle and square studs; while I have painted a few to match manis, it isn't the easiest thing to do painting them.

When they were dry, added to nails.  In hindsight, these are a bit too large for my nails and not really sure if they added anything to the mani but didn't mind them.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish and secure nails studs.
